Christian Slater Geeks Out Over Mona Lisa

Santa, if you are listening, please bring Christian Slater a selfie stick for Christmas.

In Paris with his wife, the Mr. Robot star did what any typical tourist would do: peep at the Mona Lisa at the Louvre. The ’80s heartthrob, 47, took it a step further by snapping a selfie in front of the iconic Leonardo da Vinci portrait amid a room full of backpack-wearing, phone-toting, gawking sightseers. And for the record, he is not embarrassed to be an everyman — even if his wife, Brittany Lopez, tried to call him out about it.

“Busted by my wife taking a selfie with Mona Lisa,” he charmingly captioned the Instagram photo. “Posting this to prove that I am not embarrassed.”

To further prove how “not embarrassed” he is, he happily posed in the courtyard with the Louvre Pyramid over his right shoulder.

Lately we have been pretty tickled by celebrities playing tourist. Just two weeks ago, Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell copied the Mona Lisa’s “resting bitch face” in an epic selfie.

And then there was Rebel Wilson, who playfully posed beneath David’s privates while taking in the Michelangelo sculpture in Florence.

Slater may soon have less opportunity for jaunts to Paris. The star, who has been a working actor since he was in diapers, is hoping to become Kelly Ripa’s permanent co-host on Live With Kelly.
