Chrissy Teigen will travel far and wide for good food.

On Sunday, April, 7, the cookbook author, 38, revealed that she traveled to China to purchase $900 worth of wagyu steak and short ribs from her husband John Legend’s favorite butcher in an Instagram video poking fun at her feat.

“My husband John really loves short ribs and the kids were away at camp so of course I hopped on a plane to China to visit his most favorite butcher,” Teigen began in the voiceover for the satirical video, which documented her trip, as well as her cooking the dish she made out of her lavish purchase.

The video montage started with a clip of Teigen on a plane before switching to her landing in China and visiting the butcher to look through the meat display.

Teigen then jokingly commented, “I decided to half my recipe since it was just me and my baby, but the selection today was beyond incredible so of course I had to sneak in just a few wagyu steaks.”

“I did steal John’s credit card before I left so it made paying $900 an absolute breeze,” she added as the video switched to a clip of her paying for the wagyu steaks and short ribs before leaving the butcher shop with a bag and jumping back on a plane.

Back at home, Teigen looked up the recipe for her braised short ribs in her second cookbook, Cravings: Hungry For More, and started prepping for her dish by seasoning the meat and browning the ribs in a pan.

“This is always my favorite part, after my hubby shows me a little love that is,” continued Teigen in the narration as Legend, 45, walked past with their daughter Esti Maxine, 14 months, and cheekily smacked his wife’s butt.

The mom of four then showed herself chopping up carrots and celery before placing them in a pan with some pearl onions, flour and beer.

“Then it’s time to simmer those veggies. I’m disappointed they weren’t from my garden, but I’m sure he won’t even notice,” Teigen playfully noted.

The cookbook author then added tomatoes, beef broth and the ribs to the pan before the video switched to a clip featuring her hands full as she struggled to open the oven while Legend stood nearby watching.

“Let's get this beautiful creation into the oven as Papa is getting hungry,” she added in the voiceover as she finally managed to open the oven with her foot.

“Now one of my favorite things about doing a dish like this is having my husband getting to check in to see how much love goes into his favorite meal. It is not even work for me when I know it is bringing him so much joy,” Teigen continued in the tongue-in-cheek moment as she planted a kiss on the “All of Me” singer.

After setting a timer for over three hours and spending some downtime watching Vanderpump Rules and Jennifer Lopez’s This is Me…Now: A Love Story, Teigen then moved on to making the sweet potato mash before indulging in a body massage.

Going on to call herself a “multitasking girlie,” Teigen then showed herself removing the filling of the “hot yams” while in the middle of her pamper session, adding that her “husband could not be more excited” about his upcoming meal.

"After nearly four hours I smell our beautiful creation and our Wednesday night meal that I have truly been making for our family since 2008 is finally ready," she continued as she was then seen jokingly shuffling on her knees as she delivered the dish to her unbothered husband, who was lying on their couch and scrolling through his phone.

“John could not be more thrilled to eat what he proudly calls his deathbed meal,” Teigen playfully noted, before adding, “It’s his running joke to call it under-seasoned."

Teigen shared her video ahead of her family traveling home from Thailand following a visit to see her mom, Vilailuck "Pepper" Teigen.

However, the family's trip didn't exactly go as planned, with the star revealing she was sleeping at a Dubai airport amid a five-hour flight delay.

“Hour 5 at the airport,” she wrote in the caption of the video posted on her Instagram Stories on Monday, April 8.
