Model and social media queen Chrissy Teigen opened up on Twitter on Tuesday about the stress that QAnon conspiracy theorists that have been pushing a hoax that she and John Legend are pedophiles who visited "Epstein Island." She tweeted:
"u know what is not great? I still have to read on social media many times a day that John and I are pedophiles and look at photoshopped/miscaptioned photos of us on "Epstein Island" and I just have to deal with it because "people are crazy these days."
Spreading Lies
American financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was arrested on July 6 and killed himself while in jail. There have been rumors about who exactly has participated in his notorious pedophile ring, but it certainly doesn't include Teigen and Legend. Even so, the theory has found a devoted following on the right wing conspiracy site QAnon, and people are making Teigen's life hell because of it.
Making Her Feel Unsafe
Teigen wrote a Twitter thread about the ordeal, lamenting:
"I had a real life before this. I mean... going to the grocery store and sh-t, parks alone with my kids. now I have a list of people in my area who genuinely believe we are in a pedo ring that is ALMOST about to be exposed."
"These People Are All Over"
She explained that it's not just "weirdos in random towns. these people are all over." She continued explaining that she feels helpless and unable to do anything to protect her family.
"I love (sic) justice. when people do wrong, I need them to know they're wrong. this isn't a good or bad thing, but it's me. the fact I have to learn to let people get away with shit like this is insane to me. it makes me ill inside. yep, they're just crazy! don't worry bout em!"
She ended her thread with "anyhow that is my morning rant. f-ck you, f-cking miserable Q sh-tf-cks, you absolute f-cking losers."
