Chrissy Teigen Jokes She's 'Screwed' in New Video of Son Miles Walking & Every Parent Can Relate

Uh oh! Chrissy Teigen and John Legend better get ready, because their baby boy seems eager to keep his parents on their toes. Teigen’s reaction to son Miles’ latest walking milestone reveals just how mobile their 1-year-old has become — for better or worse. Just one week after sharing a clip of Miles taking his first few timid steps, Teigen posted a video follow-up: and in trademark Teigen fashion, the mom-of-two added a comically relatable caption suggesting she realizes the famous family’s dynamic is about to change in a big way.

Teigen took to Instagram on Tuesday evening to share the major toddler-development moment with her fans. In the short video, Teigen’s mom, Vilailuck Teigen, leads Miles to the edge of the couple’s marble tub before sprinting just out of frame. Then, Vilailuck and Teigen can be heard calling for Miles to walk toward the camera. And, boy, does he! The little guy bounces in place for a second before taking off at full (baby) speed.

There’s plenty of preciousness to unpack here. First, there’s the fact that family bulldog Pepper quite literally follows in Miles’ footsteps. Or how about the fact that Miles’ big sis Luna runs in to help guide him? Then there’s the way he stumbles at the end, but quickly recovers to clap for himself. We’re also particularly partial to Teigen’s oh-so-apropos caption: “Oh it is fuckin’ ON we are screwed.”

Hey, we get it. It goes without saying that this is a big deal for baby Miles, and Teigen and the rest of the fam (four-legged members included) are clearly over-the-moon about it. But Teigen’s unfiltered reaction basically follows the thought process of every parent watching their little one get the hang of walking: Yay! Oh, wait…

Not surprisingly, some of Teigen’s famous friends were quick to comment on the cuteness of this video. “I love how happy he is,” wrote model Tess Holliday. Actor Boris Kodjoe dropped a string of clapping hand emojis. And actor-turned-producer Jaleel White joked: “He got dat bounce.”

Also not surprisingly, a few keyboard warriors emerged to mom-shame Teigen after she posted the video. “Wow, such a safe area,” one detractor said sarcastically. Others piggybacked on the idea that the bathroom wasn’t the best place to test Miles’ walking skills, suggesting he could have slipped and injured himself on the bathtub ledge.

Teigen didn’t let it steal her joy for the moment, though. Always quick with the clapback, she responded to the haters: “I have to block like 20-30 people every time I post my kids. So many dummies. Is someone forcing you at gunpoint to be annoying?” And, she’s got a point, people — leave a pure moment alone, will ya?
