Chrissy Teigen Jokes About Joining the 2017 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show: 'I'm Gonna Kill It'

A handful of models including Gigi Hadid and Julia Belyakova were reportedly denied visas to the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai. But Chrissy Teigen? She’ll be there, closing out the show… at least, in her mind.

“Going to try to get one last gym session in,” she said, showing a collection of syrup bottles she had used for breakfast. “Gotta look sick! Closing the show!”

She continued the gag later, zooming in on flower arrangements she had around the house.

“Hey guys, here in Shanghai. Thank you so much for the flowers. VS baby, for life!” she said showing one, later adding of another: “Gisele Bündchen and Justin Bieber just sent me these to congratulate me on the show. All they’re doing is making me nervous though. I’m so nervous!”

Later, after a shower, she joked that she had “just finished” a “workout sesh” and was “doing a lot of ab work.”

“I’m sweating as you can see from it. I go hard,” she said.

Fans took notice, one user tweeting, “@chrissyteigen’s troll level of the VS fashion show this morning is giving me life #mostlyabwork #VSFS2017.”

But Teigen wasn’t giving up the gag, writing, “No one is answering my phone calls or emails but I am here in Shanghai and ready for my fitting !!!!!!”

The Lip Sync Battle host then asked fans to Photoshop her into a photo of Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2017 models in Shanghai that was shared on the company’s Instagram page, which they were happy to do. Teigen retweeted some of her favorites.

While Teigen won’t make it to the big show, 55 models including Karlie Kloss, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel, Stella Maxwell, Elsa Hosk, Jasmine Tookes, Josephine Skriver, Lais Ribeiro, Martha Hunt, Romee Strijd, Sara Sampaio, and Taylor Hill will be.

This year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is set to be bigger than ever before. And that’s why the lingerie giant has cast four musical performers to hit the stage in Shanghai, China, alongside some of the world’s most famous models.

“We started booking our musical guests months ago when Harry Styles, international superstar, signed on,” Ed Razek, executive producer of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and chief creative officer at Victoria’s Secret, told PEOPLE.

“Also appearing are Grammy award-winning artist Miguel, Tony award-winning star of Hamilton Leslie Odom Jr., and Chinese sensation Jane Zhang. We are incredibly thrilled to have them with us.”

As for those reports about Gigi, Razek said the road to Shanghai and the welcome in China has been a harmonious one.

“The news reports I’ve been reading from the US here in Shanghai regarding this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show are not an accurate reflection of what I’m seeing and experiencing on site,” he says. “The Chinese have been wonderful and enthusiastic hosts and partners. From granting more than 700 visas, collaborating with us on every detail and introducing us to local experts who have helped us elevate our event in this renowned fashion city. We appreciate their efforts and all they have done to make this event a success. We look forward to the live show Monday night and the international broadcast a week later.”

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airs Tuesday, November 28, at 10 p.m. on CBS.
