Chrissy Teigen Had This To Say About Her Parents' Divorce

Chrissy Teigen is attempting to make light of her parents' divorce by doing what the "Bring The Funny" star does best, cracking jokes! The 33-year-old retired swimsuit model spoke about her mom, Vilailuck Teigen, and dad, Ron Teigen Jr., separating after being together for decades. Opening up about the news before her dad even filed for divorce, Chrissy Teigen spoke about the split to Vanity Fair, which a reporter for the outlet shared on social media after The Blast broke the story.

Two Christmases!

In the wake of her parents' divorce, Vanity Fair reporter Karen Valby tweeted that she had a conversation with the model about her parents' future. She revealed she had sat down with the "Lip Sync Battle" star and her Grammy-winning husband for a recent interview because both Chrissy Teigen and John Legend will be appearing on their December cover issue. Stating that Chrissy's mom, Vilailuck “Pepper” Teigen, was also present, Valby tweeted they had a discussion about the separation and the star even cracked a joke.

Chrissy reportedly told Valby that when her parents revealed the news to their daughter, she responded by stating "Two Christmases!" in an attempt to make light of the situation. The reporter also shared a telling detail about the models' parents' relationship by calling it, "A marriage that was long more of a friendship is coming to an end." She also added, "Life goes on."

Mom Lives With Her:

The Blast was first to break the story about Vilailuck and Ron Teigen's divorce. Chrissy's dad filed for a dissolution of marriage on Tuesday in Los Angeles against her mother. The documents also state that no minor children are involved, as the estranged couple only has Chrissy and another daughter, Tina. While it's unclear what happened between the two, they have been living apart for years. Vilailuck moved into Chrissy and John Legend's Beverly Hills home a few years ago, despite Ron Teigen living only 10 mins away.

Opening up about the living arrangements in 2018, the model stated living separately "works for them." Elaborating on the situation, Chrissy Teigen said, "So my mom lives with us but everybody is like, 'Where’s your dad?'” Answering her own question, she responded, "He comes by every day and they’re married. It just works for them. It’s a good family life. We’re all very close, very tight-knit." Vilailuck is an active grandma who helps her daughter out with her two children -- Luna, 3, and Miles, 1. Fans know her as Chrissy's loving sidekick in the kitchen, which the star documents on a daily basis. Vilailuck is even featured in Chrissy's cookbook, as are several of her traditional Thai recipes.

Relationship With Dad:

Chrissy Teigen is very close to her parents and was even walked down the aisle by her dad during her lavish wedding to Legend in September 2013. On Ron Teigen's birthday in August 2018, Chrissy paid tribute to her dad and shared a bunch of photos showing them together. Posting one from her wedding, she wrote, "Happy birthday to my wonderful papa!!!" She also joked, "the last photo is my favorite!!" showing him proudly sporting his MAGA hat. Despite their political differences -- Chrissy is famously anti-Donald Trump -- she seems pretty tight with her dad. Interesting timing for the divorce filing considering the holidays are around the corner but it looks like Chrissy Teigen doesn't mind at all.
