Chrissy Teigen Explains Her Viral Oscar Expression to Colbert

On The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, model Chrissy Teigen promoted her new cookbook, “Cravings.” Colbert asked the expecting mother to explain the thoughts behind the viral expression she made at the 88th Academy Awards on February 27. Chrissy blushed and said, “I mean, a lot of Stacey Dash.”

As if Fox News commentator Dash wasn’t disliked enough by her peers, Chrissy explained her opinion of what the Oscar attendees were all thinking: “When [Chris Rock] said her name, we were all like, we thought that was the joke.”

After she and Colbert poked a little more fun at the awkwardness in the room, Chrissy confessed that she went home and watched clips of the failed joke. After watching them a few times, she said, “In the room it was dead silent. I actually think they put laughter in after, ’cause I saw some clips when I went home. It was weird.”

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert airs weekday nights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
