Chrissy Teigen Chronicles Her Toy-Building Journey While Her Kids Sleep & We Can’t Stop Laughing

With four kids at home, Chrissy Teigen has lots of practice building toys. (And, speaking from experience, probably lots of other baby-adjacent things like cribs, swings, activity centers, and more.) The key is to build it after your kids go to bed! Teigen did just that and filmed her funny experience for all parents to relate to.

The Chrissy & Dave Dine Out star shared a video of the Melissa & Doug Doctor Activity Center on her Instagram story on Tuesday. The toy is still in the box it was packed in, and Teigen sing-says, “Oooh, Mama has something to build today!” She adds, “Oh, I’m so excited.”
“Kids are asleep time to get crazy,” she wrote over another video, this time showing the instructions for building the activity center. Right away, things start to go wrong. Apparently after putting together part of the center, she accidentally scratched her wood floors. Oops!
Later, she takes a break to talk about Baby Reindeer (as you do) with her husband John Legend, then she gets back to it. Things didn’t go according to plan again. “I have made my first mistake,” Teigen admits. “In my history of building things. Stripped this,” she says, showing a piece of wood with a screw in it. “I was too confident,” Teigen adds with a sigh.
She turned it around, though! “Oh, hell yeah! We put a screw in there, some glue on. That looks like we didn’t do anything!” she says in another video, showing a closeup of the piece that is now attached. With a little determination (and some superglue!), moms can do anything.

The playset is almost all put together! Teigen shares another update, this time showing the almost finished doctor’s office, complete with a credit card machine. “Oh man, f—king America,” Teigen says as she puts a red card into the machine. Because you can’t go to the doctor without paying up, right?
It’s getting later, and now Teigen is listening to music and unwrapping all the little pieces that go in the doctor’s bag. The soft way the paper crinkles as she takes off the paper could be its own ASMR video! Later, Teigen plays with the toys, because how could you not? She shares a selfie of her with a play stethoscope in her ears and another video as she cuts with the play scissors.

Finally, the moment we’ve all been waiting for: it’s done! The final video is set to the fitting Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely.” She films the whole center, which includes a little bench for patients to sit on while they wait, a sink and counter with a phone, a check-up area with a bench for kids to lie down. There’s even an eyechart! She deserves all the applause and praise. She did it all while the kids were asleep, and they are going to be so happy to play with it in the morning.
Teigen shares kids Luna, 8, Miles, 5, Esti, 15 months, and Wren, 10 months, with Legend. She seems to have a blast building things, even bringing an entire suitcase filled with LEGOs when they went on vacation last August. “legos on vacation with my giant family! a dream,” she captioned a post on Instagram, which included tons of cute vacay photos (often featuring the LEGOs).
She’s such a fun mom!
