2023 Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year Chris Stapleton has announced the Nov. 10, 2023 release of "Higher," his fifth solo album.

The release follows his Grammy-winning and Billboard country chart-topping Nov. 2020 release "Starting Over."

The 14-track album again features Stapleton working with star producer Dave Cobb, his wife Morgane plus J.T. Cure (bass), Paul Franklin (pedal steel), Derek Mixon (drums) and Lee Pardini (organ, piano). Also familiar with the process was recording at Nashville's RCA Studio A on Music Row.

"White Horse," a single from the album -- written by Stapleton and Dan Wilson -- has been released.

That's not the only local news with global impact surrounding Stapleton. Alongside Little Big Town, the 15-time Country Music Association award-winner will open for George Strait on July 28-29 at Nissan Stadium.

Could vaunted entertainers Strait and Stapleton continue their collaborative work past Strait's first stadium tour in nearly a decade?

"Whether or not we do it again the following year depends on how we all feel it went when we're finished with these shows. Chris [Stapleton] and I haven't talked about 2024 at this point," Strait stated to Billboard.

Alongside artists including Charlie Daniels, Stapleton will also receive the ACM's Triple Crown Award at August 23's 16th ACM Honors event at the Ryman Auditorium.

The "Cold" vocalist will be honored with the trophy as he's now won ACM awards for New Male Vocalist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year Entertainer of the Year. He joins Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, Mickey Gilley, Merle Haggard, Miranda Lambert, Barbara Mandrell and Carrie Underwood in receiving the honor.

"It's a stunning, completely unexpected surprise to be Entertainer of the Year," Stapleton told The Tennessean about his inaugural ACM Entertainer of the Year victory -- after five nominations. "At a time in the country music industry when there are so many entertaining artists past and present, I'm glad people voted for me."

Stapleton has two dozen other concert appearances scheduled worldwide before his Nov. 10 album release date.
