Chris Rock's new Netflix comedy special is actually an oldie with a twist.
The streaming platform will play host to a remixed version of the comedian's 2018 Netflix comedy special, Tamborine, now titled Chris Rock: Total Blackout, The Tamborine Extended Cut. By remix, he means the special now includes more "searing observations on race, fatherhood, and politics," as well as "never-before-seen jokes, interviews, and behind the scenes footage."
"It's a hot special!" he jokes in a new promo.
Rock announced the special earlier in December, but now the news is out that it will be released on Netflix globally this Jan. 12.
Tamborine — spelled without the "u" as a nod to how "Prince spells it in the song 'Tomborine'" — marked the first of two comedy specials struck with Netflix in a 2016 deal with the comic. As a comedy album, the special earned Rock a Grammy nomination in 2018.
