How Chris Rock Landed Kevin Hart in 'Top Five'

Chris Rock’s buzzed-about new comedy, Top Five, boasts all kinds of star power, with appearances by Adam Sandler, Tracy Morgan, Whoopi Goldberg, and Jerry Seinfeld, among others. But right at the top of the list of scene stealers is Kevin Hart, who plays the hilariously frustrated agent to Rock’s character.

So how did Rock, who wrote, directed, and stars in Top Five, lock down one of Hollywood’s most in-demand funnymen for the part? Simple. He called in a favor, and didn’t give up until Hart said, “No.” Which, obviously, Hart didn’t.
