Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle are bringing their co-headlining tour to the west coast this December.

The comedians, who first joined forces for shows in the U.K. this September, will make their way through California with seven dates starting Dec. 1 in San Diego and end in Thousand Palms. Tickets go on sale Oct. 21 through ticketmaster.com with prices yet to be announced that "may fluctuate based on demand at any time."

The co-headlining tour for the comedians comes after both have been the subject of recent controversies.

Last March, Rock hosted the 2022 Oscars and made a joke about actor Will Smith's wife Jada Pinkett Smith's bald head. Smith appeared to first laugh at Rock's joke, though Pinkett Smith rolled her eyes and looked upset. Afterward, Smith walked up to the stage, slapped Rock and returned to his seat amid confusion in the crowd about whether the segment was scripted or real.

Can America take a joke?: Yes. Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock incidents are part of a continuum, experts say

"Will Smith just slapped the (expletive) out of me," Rock deadpanned to the audience.

"Keep my wife's name out of your (expletive) mouth," Smith shouted.

The "King Richard" actor has publicly apologized twice for the incident. He released his most recent and first on-camera apology with a YouTube video titled "It's been a minute..." on July 29 addressing commonly asked questions, including why Smith didn't apologize to Rock in his acceptance speech for best actor.

In Chappelle's 2021 Netflix special "The Closer," he went after the transgender community and said “Gender is a fact. Every human being in this room, every human being on Earth, had to pass through the legs of a woman to be on Earth.” He added that “trans women’s” genitalia are “not quite what it is."

"The Closer" was the sixth stand-up special in Chappelle's deal with Netflix and provoked backlash with its transphobic commentary, leading Netflix employees to walk out in protest when co-CEO Ted Sarandos doubled down on his defense of it. Chappelle later responded to the feedback from his special with a clip from a recent set.

During Chappelle's May 3 performance at the Netflix is a Joke festival in Los Angeles, Isaiah Lee stormed the stage, lunged at Chappelle and tackled him to the ground, according to a press release from the Los Angeles Police Department.

Lee, who was charged with assault with a deadly weapon after pointing a replica handgun at Chappelle, told the New York Post the comedian's set was "triggering" for him. Lee denied having the weapon drawn when he approached the comedian.

Lee also claimed he went to the show at the Hollywood Bowl to have a "good time," but became increasingly upset as Chappelle allegedly joked about his controversy regarding the LGBTQ community, homelessness and pedophilia.

According to social media video, Chappelle joked after the incident that the attacker "was a trans man."

For the comedy duo's tour, no cellphones, cameras or recording devices will be allowed during the show, which has been the case for previous shows. Guests will place all phones and smart watches in a pouch provided by the company Yondr. The pouches will be unlocked at the end of the show. If needed, guests may access their phones at designated Yondr unlocking stations in the lobby. Anyone caught with a cellphone in the theater will be immediately ejected.
