As the upcoming Ryan GoslingEmily Blunt crowd-pleaser “The Fall Guy” shows, doing stuntwork in Hollywood can be risky business. That is why you are supposed to leave it to the professionals.

But Chris Pratt decided to get in the mix a little bit during the production of his next film, “Mercy,” and the result didn’t go so well.

As he shared on Instagram, the “Jurassic World” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” actor, after saluting his stunt team, admitted he “sometimes tr[ies] to get in there and do some of my own stuff. Today, daddy caught a metal post to the ankle. Should be interesting moving forward.” He included the “thinky guy” emoji and two photos—one of a bandaged foot, the other looking a bit scratched and puffy. (Also, and I only say this because the rest of Chris Pratt is so handsome, what is going on with that second toe? Yugggh!) It’s unclear to what degree this injury will delay shooting.

“Mercy” is an action picture in a dystopian future, in which Pratt’s character is a detective accused of a violent crime and must clear his name. The Amazon MGM Studios picture is being directed by Timur Bekmambetov (“Night Watch,” “Wanted”) and written by Marco van Belle (writer and director of 2015’s “Arthur & Merlin,” which does not appear to have been released in the USA). “Mercy,” shooting in Los Angeles, co-stars Rebecca Ferguson, Kali Reis, Annabelle Wallis, Rafi Gavron, Chris Sullivan, Kenneth Choi and Kylie Rogers

This is not the first time Pratt has shown off a “well, what did you expect?” type of wound on Instagram. In December 2022, the internet was buzzing when the former Bubba Gump Shrimp Company waiter literally poked a beehive and ended up getting stung in the eye, ending up with a puffy (but still beautiful) face.

Though never nominated for an Oscar or an Emmy, the upbeat and likable Pratt does have a few nods from the Kids’ Choice Awards and Teen Choice Awards.
