Chris Martin Has Reportedly Had Enough of Ex Gwyneth Paltrow’s Involvement in This Aspect of His Life

Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow may have amicably “consciously uncoupled” way back in 2014 but the exes are reportedly still having some ups and downs.

The former couple, who share two kids — Apple, 19, and Moses, 17 — have both moved on with other partners. The Shakespeare in Love actress has been married to TV writer and producer Brad Falchuk since 2018 while the Coldplay frontman has been dating actress Dakota Johnson since 2017.

On the surface, the two couple appear to be on good terms with one another and regularly attend family events together as well as occasional family vacations. However, per a source who talked to National Enquirer, Martin is getting frustrated with Paltrow’s friend with Johnson.

“Chris grew tired of Gwyneth’s ‘progressive’ behavior when they were still married and he doesn’t want to put up with it now,” an insider told the National Enquirer, per Radar Online.

Earlier this month, Paltrow gushed about her friendship with the Fifty Shades of Grey actress on her Instagram story, telling her followers: “We’re actually very good friends. I love her so much.”

The outlet claimed Johnson has been coming to Paltrow with her relationship problems, telling her about Martin’s reluctance to settle down. The source alleged: “Gwyn said even after they married and had two kids, Chris would just say, ‘I’m going off for a bit,’ and fly away to be alone with his thoughts and write songs in solitude. That’s just how he rolls as an artist.”

“Dakota wants a husband who is all in and wants to raise a family with her,” the source said. “With Chris, she just gets the feeling you never get 100 perfect of him, and that’s why he and Gwyneth eventually split up.”

Despite the claims, Martin has always praised Paltrow and their friendship. In 2014, the “Yellow” singer insisted there was no bad blood after their split. “We’re very close,” Martin explained in an interview with Valentine in the Morning. “There’s a lot of love. There’s no scandal.”

As recently as May, Paltrow opened up about her close relationship with Martin during her appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast.

“When I met him, there was a very deep thing there,” the actress said. “And I couldn’t quite put my finger on it because it felt very different than my other relationships.”

“It’s not so much that the relationship itself turned out to be healthier than my other relationships,” she continued. “It’s just that I think I had this deep calling on some level. I knew he was going to be the father of my kids, maybe or something. It was a very strong feeling.”
