Chris Evans and Wife Alba Baptista Hold Hands During Rare Outing at Pre-Oscars Party

The Marvel star and the actress complemented each other in chic white looks at the L.A. bash

Chris Evans and Alba Baptista stepped out for a rare date night!

The Marvel star and actress were spotted leaving an Oscars pre-party held at West Hollywood’s Sunset Tower Hotel on Saturday night.

The couple, who tied the knot last September, held hands as they left the star-studded Los Angeles bash, where they complemented each other in white looks.

Evans, 42, looked dapper in a crisp white dress shirt, which he tucked into gray trousers. He paired the ensemble with brown dress shoes and a pair of wire-rimmed glasses.

Holding his hand was Baptista, 26, in a long-sleeve, off-the-shoulder dress with a knotted detail on the neckline. She paired the white dress with a matching choker, pumps and a bold lip.

The Knives Out star and Warrior Nun actress were confirmed to be dating in 2022 — the same year Evans was named PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive! — a source told PEOPLE at the time, noting that the couple had been together "for over a year and it's serious.”

"They are in love,” the insider said. "And Chris has never been happier. His family and friends all adore her.”

Shortly after, in January 2023, Evans went Instagram-official with Baptista —  though he has since deactivated his account — and the pair got married months later.

The actors tied the knot on Sept. 9, a source confirmed to PEOPLE at the time. They said “I do” in a private Cape Cod ceremony surrounded by loved ones, including Evans’ Marvel costars, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner.

Days after the star-studded nuptials, a source opened up about Evans’ relationship with Baptista, telling PEOPLE that "it was kind of love at first sight” for the pair.

The insider, who confirmed fan speculation that the pair met in Europe, told PEOPLE the couple “got serious very quickly,” and Evans “kept saying he knew she was the one.”

The actress is “everything to him,” the source said, adding that Evans “has been ready to settle down for a while."

"He can’t wait to have a family. He was just waiting for the right girl," the insider continued, adding that Baptista is “beautiful, smart and just a good person.”

“She is involved in charity work and truly cares about doing good. She is a very positive and happy person. It’s rubbed off on him,” they said, adding, “It's the best news that they are married."
