Chris D'Elia to Play Recurring Role in You's Season 2 Alongside Penn Badgley

Chris D’Elia is joining Netflix’s You.

The Undateable actor has been cast in a recurring role for the series’ upcoming second season, a rep at Netflix confirmed to PEOPLE.

D’Elia, 38, will play Henderson, who is described as “a designer hoodie, black Ray-Bans, expensive sneakers-wearing famous comedian with a ‘hard-life-lessons man-of-the-people’ thing working for him.”

Deadline first reported the news.

The first season of You follows bookstore manager Joe Goldberg, played by Penn Badgley, as he obsesses over his customer Guinevere Beck, played by Elizabeth Lail. Goldberg stalks Beck, pursuing a relationship with her.

He continues his unhealthy fascination with her by monitoring her movements in person and via her social media profiles.

The first season was loosely based on Caroline Kepnes’ bestselling novel of the same name.

The show’s second season is expected to be loosely based on Kepnes’ second novel, Hidden Bodies. The psychological thriller will follow Goldberg to Los Angeles — and to a new muse, Love Quinn, portrayed by Victoria Pedretti, Deadline reports.

D’Elia is known for his roles in Undateable and Whitney, as well as the upcoming half-hour comedy Psychopath that he co-created and will star in.

A premiere date for You‘s second season has yet to be revealed.
