Chris Cuomo's wife, Cristina, says teen son Mario has 'healed' from coronavirus

Chris Cuomo's wife, Cristina, has some good news on her family's battle with coronavirus.

On Tuesday, Cristina took to Instagram to share that the couple's 14-year-old son, Mario, has "healed" after testing positive for COVID-19. Additionally, the Cuomos' two other children, Bella and Carolina, have "stayed safe" through the family's battle with the virus.

"I am so grateful for the the silver lining—more family time, to have antibodies... and be able to donate," she continued. "Thank you for sharing your corona stories + taking the time to tune into our Purist talks."

In an interview with Dr. Anthony Fauci on his CNN show "Cuomo Prime Time" on Monday, Chris Cuomo discussed how the public health professional played a role in his personal recovery.

Cuomo thanked Fauci for calling him frequently at night after his show to check in on how he and his family were doing.

"I don't think that the people who were seeing you on this show were really experiencing or realizing how you were really sucking it up to look relatively normal," Fauci said in a tweeted clip from the interview.

Fauci also noted that he's known the CNN anchor since he was kid.

"You really put on a great act in front of the TV, Chris," Fauci continued. "You were really wiped out badly."

Shortly after her April 22 Instagram post revealing her son's diagnosis, Cristina made headlines for the alternative remedies she says she and her family used during their fight against the novel coronavirus.

Her recommendations, including baths using disinfecting Clorox bleach, which the cleaning product company has specifically warned against, have received criticism from medical experts.

The CNN anchor revealed that his wife had tested positive for the virus during an April 15 on-air interview with his brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
