Chris Cornell's daughter Toni is remembering her dad 30 years after the release of Temple of the Dog's "Hunger Strike."

On Thursday, Cornell's 16-year-old daughter shared a guitar performance of the track from Temple of the Dog's self-titled 1991 album, along with a touching message to her father.

"Hunger Strike was released 30 years ago today. It's not only one of the most iconic songs of all time but one of my personal favorites," she wrote. "I recorded it for Music Lives to raise money for covid relief in April 2020 and in tribute to my dad who would have been the first to do everything he could to help."

"I love you daddy and I'm so proud of what you created, who you are and everything you believed in," she wrote. "This song represents all of that to me ♥️."

The sweet tribute to her favorite song comes several months after Toni launched a mental health podcast titled Stop the Stigma.

"My father suffered from a disease that runs in our family, both his parents were alcoholics," she told PEOPLE in October. "The most important thing we can do is know what it is and share our story, so that my brother and I can understand why it happened and prevent others from suffering the same way."

"My dad should still be here," she added then. "No one should have to go through this pain and loss. We can make a change by stopping the stigma and following the science."

Last month, Cornell's family posthumously released a 10-track cover album titled No One Sings Like You Anymore. He recorded the tracks in 2016, a year before his death by suicide at 52.

"This moment is bittersweet because he should be here doing it himself, but it is with both heartache and joy that we share this special album," Cornell's wife Vicky said in a statement then. "I am so proud of him and this stunning record, which to me, illustrates why he will always be beloved, honored, and one the greatest voices of our time."
