Chris Brown Settles Assault and False Imprisonment Lawsuit with Former Manager
Chris Brown has reached a settlement to bring an end to his years-long legal battle with his former manager.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the singer and his ex-manager Mike G have informed the court they hashed out a deal that resolves their issues. The deal is confidential.
Per their deal, all claims against the other will be closed and the court will remain jurisdiction to enforce the terms of the settlement.
Back in 2016, Mike G. sued Chris Brown, accusing him of false imprisonment, assault, battery, defamation, and breach of contract.
Mike G. was hired in 2012 following the Rihanna situation and was allegedly to repair his image, get him out of debt and get him sober from drugs.
He claimed Brown without provocation attacked him in early 2016, and it was so bad he had to be hospitalized.
Brown took to social media to accuse Mike G of stealing money, which the manager denied.
Earlier this year, Brown was sanctioned in the case for refusing to turn over key evidence in the case to Mike G. The judge ordered him to pay $1,760 and to turn over all documents his former manager had requested.
Further, he sought all documents Brown has in regard to any felonies for assault and battery he has been convicted for in past 10 years, all restraining orders he has been hit with, and documents relating to anger management treatments and courses he took.
The resolution of the case means one less legal issue for Brown to worry about. He is still facing a lawsuit from a Jane Doe who claims she was raped at the singer's house by his friend. That case is ongoing.
