It’s been another bad week for Chris Brown.

On Saturday, Feb. 9, the singer, who’s expected at the Grammys tonight, was driving his Porsche to a charity event in Los Angeles when he said the paparazzi cut him off. “The occupants jumped out, with cameras, and aggressively approached his vehicle,” Brown’s representative said in a statement. “In an effort to remove himself from the situation, he began to back down an alley, at which point he was cut off by two additional vehicles. Chris’ vehicle was totaled due to this aggressive pursuit by the paparazzi. He is okay.”

A spokesperson for the Beverly Hills Police Department also released a statement about the accident, confirming that Brown was involved in “a solo, non-injury traffic collision” in which he “collided with a wall.” “Brown stated that he was being chased by paparazzi causing him to lose control of his vehicle,” the statement said. “Brown’s Black Porsche was towed from the scene at his request.”

It was on this same day, four years ago, that Brown attacked then-girlfriend Rihanna, who has now rekindled her relationship with him. He later pled guilty to felony assault and was sentenced to five years probation and six months of community service. He was back in court last week after prosecutors raised questions about his community service and ongoing anger management issues.

Rihanna will join Brown at the Grammys; she’s listed as one of the performers. Also on the bill is Frank Ocean, who was involved in an alleged altercation with Brown in January.
