Twinkling Watermelon star Choi Hyun-Wook recently appeared in a new K-drama, High Cookie. It is a teen fantasy thriller series about high schoolers getting in trouble due to a dangerous cookie.

As the title suggests, the Korean drama touches on the subject of drug abuse in all aspects. It is the story of an elder sister protecting her younger brother after the star student gets involved in the cookie scandal.

While Choi Hyun-Wook plays the role of younger brother Seo Ho-Soo, Suspicious Partner-fame Nam Ji-Hyun essays elder sister Choi Soo-Young’s role.

High Cookie cast, release date & more

Choi Hyun-Wook has mostly played comedy characters in K-dramas like Twinkling Watermelon and Twenty-Five Twenty-One. In High Cookie, his character Seo Ho-Soo is a third-year student at one of the best private schools, Junghan High School.

He comes from a poor family but manages to study in an elite school because of his grades. Ho-Soo’s rich classmates often bully him and call him a pushover. A drugged cookie becomes a trend in the school and Ho-Soo gets tangled in the mess.

To protect him, his elder sister Choi Soo-Young played by Nam Ji-Hyun must find the truth. She has been the breadwinner of the family since their parents passed away when she was 18. His brother is three years younger than her.

High Cookie also features an interesting character, Yoo Seong-Pil played by Kim Moo-Yul. He is the best consultant in the university. He pursues all kinds of ways, legal or illegal, to help his students get into the colleges they wish for.

The official synopsis of the upcoming K-drama reads:

“A drama about what happens when a dangerous handmade cookie that fulfills a dream devours an elite high school.”

Apart from Hyun-Wook, Ji-Hyun, and Moo-Yul, the cast also stars Jung Da-Bin, Seo Bum-June, Chae Seo-Eun, Song Si-An, Kwon Ji-Woo, Choi Ji-Su, Jung Hee-Tae, Kim Jung, and Park Sang-Hwi.

High Cookie aired the first two episodes on Monday, October 23, 2023. Episode 3 airs on October 30, 2023, on U+mobiletv.
