Chipotle diners have a spicy new option to stuff in their burritos, bowls, tacos, salads and quesadillas: Chicken al Pastor.

Available for a limited time, Chicken al Pastor is grilled, marinated chicken –seasoned in adobo with morita peppers, ground achiote and a bit of pineapple – finished with lime and cilantro.

Chipotle tested the menu option in 94 restaurants in Denver and Indianapolis in August 2022 before now making it available at all Chipotle locations. It's the first time Chipotle has made a new menu item available across its 3,200 restaurants in the U.S., Canada, U.K., France and Germany, the chain said.

"Guests are looking to restaurants for unique menu items they cannot make at home, and al pastor has been gaining mass appeal in recent years," said Chipotle's chief marketing officer Chris Brandt said in a press release announcing the dish. "We've put our own spicy spin on al pastor with our freshly grilled chicken and have created a truly delicious menu item that fans will crave. It's where fire meets flavor."

Remember, you can also get fajita veggies with your choice of protein (steak, chicken, barbacoa, carnitas or sofritas plant-based protein) at Chipotle, and choose from five new quesadillas including "the Keithadilla," steak, roasted chili-corn salsa, sour cream and Chipotle-honey vinaigrette, and "the Fajita Quesadilla Hack," steak, roasted chili-corn salsa, tomatillo red-chili salsa and sour cream.
