Chipotle opens new Jacksonville restaurant with more on the way

Chipotle's restaurant at 5801 Beach Blvd. is among the chain's first to feature its new "responsible restaurant design." Here's a closer look.

After opening two restaurants in the Jacksonville area already this year, Chipotle will debut its newest restaurant on Monday.

Located at 11901 Atlantic Blvd., the restaurant joins Whataburger, Panda Express, Another Broken Egg Café and more at the Belk- and Academy Sports-anchored Atlantic North retail center.

The restaurant is the latest Chipotle in Northeast Florida to feature the “Chipotlane” drive-thru, which allows diners to pick up digital orders without having to leave their vehicles. The Chipotlane made its Florida debut in Jacksonville in 2019 at the chain’s 9671 Argyle Forest Blvd. Location.

Earlier this year, Chipotle opened two standalone restaurants with drive-thrus at 5801 Beach Blvd. (March) In Jacksonville and 876 Blanding Blvd. (September) in Orange Park.

Known for its made-to-order bowls, tacos and burritos featuring local and organic produce, the California-based fast-casual chain now has at least 17 Northeast Florida restaurants after debuting here 15 years ago.

And at least one more is already in the works.

Construction is underway on a 2,431-square-foot, 60-seat restaurant with a drive-thru and patio at 9172 Baymeadows Road, near Hardee’s and 4 Rivers Smokehouse.
