Chipotle Mexican Grill to open restaurant in downtown Detroit next spring
Chipotle Mexican Grill is scheduled to open a new restaurant in the First National Building in downtown Detroit next spring, with a walk-up window that allows customers to pick up their digital orders.
It will be the chain's first restaurant in downtown Detroit. Chipotle also has a restaurant on Radnor in Detroit.
Chipotle, known for its burrito bowls, burritos, tacos and quesadillas, will be opening at 630 Woodward, next to the Shake Shack.

According to the company, a Chipotle restaurant has about 25 jobs per site, and benefits include a bonus with an opportunity to earn an extra month's worth of pay each year; a debt-free college degree program; English as a second language; and access to mental health care for employees and their families.
Chipotle has 55 locations in Michigan.
In an emailed statement Wednesday, Chipotle said: "We are always looking for communities where we can serve responsibly sourced, classically-cooked, real food and establish new local partnerships, and downtown Detroit is a great fit. This location will provide more options for the community with the additional access point of a walk-up window that allows guests to conveniently pick up digital orders."
