HOLLAND — A children’s production of a classic tale will provide laughs for the whole family this month in Holland.

Holland Community Theatre is presenting “Little Red Robin Hood” by Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus, according to a news release. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, July 6-8 and 13-15, with matinees at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 8, and Saturday, July 15. The theatre is located at 50 W. Ninth St. in Holland.

Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased online at thehollandcommunitytheatre.org/tickets or by calling the box office at 616-396-2021.

While babysitting her younger siblings, Carla (Isla Ziegenfelder) is set upon by her younger siblings to read them a story before bedtime. Carla decides to make up her own version of events.

The story takes place in Sherwood Forest and follows the adventures of Little Red Robin Hood (Ava Reid), who takes on the evil Prince John (Keenan Doten) with the help of her merry men: Humpty Dumpty (Vivian Harris), Black Sheep (MacKenzie Fishell), Rose Red (Layla Kleis) and Simple Simon (Sonja Johnson). The group also takes on the Big Bad Wolf (Orion Greene) and the Pied Piper (Ezra Blom).

The Holland production is directed by Sandra Griffin.

“We have such a great mix of new and experienced young actors this year,” Griffin said. “The kids have had a lot of fun creating these mixed-up fairy-tale characters and making them come to life. They are very excited to perform for everyone.”
