Children's Museum of Pittsburgh nominated in USA Today's 'Best Children's Museum' contest

PITTSBURGH ― The Children's Museum of Pittsburgh has been nominated again in the USA Today 2024 10 Best Reader's Choice travel awards for the 'Best Children's Museum' category.

Last year, the Children's Museum, on Pittsburgh's North Side, placed second on the list, previously finishing in the seventh and eighth spots in the category from 2020 to 2022.

Putting out a plea for voting support, a blast email from the museum said, "We need Pittsburgh's help voting so that the museum gets the well-deserved recognition for the innovative and interactive play that inspires kindness, joy, creativity and curiosity for our region's youth and visitors to our great city."

The USA Today contest praises the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh for its "numerous hands-on, interactive exhibit areas meant to spark curiosity. The Garage is the place to explore things that bounce, race, and roll, while the Art Studio allows kids to express their creativity through various art forms. And the Kindness Gallery lets kids try different forms of communication to send messages of empathy and kindness."

Three other Pennsylvania children's museums − the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia and Children of Gettysburg 1863 – also are among the 20 nominees.
