Chiefs’ Travis Kelce forming Tight End University with George Kittle, Greg Olsen

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is teaming up with some of the best tight ends in the NFL to help better the position group moving forward.

There are already annual summits for NFL pass rushers, offensive linemen and quarterbacks. Now, Kelce has joined forces with George Kittle and Greg Olsen, in partnership with Bud Light, to create a summit for NFL players at the tight end position. There they’ll teach a ton of different skills and learn from each other, be it blocking or receiving or otherwise.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news on what the trio of players will call Tight End University. Together they hope to better uniTE the position across the league.

There’s not a whole lot of information on exactly what Tight End University will entail, but we know that the first edition is set to take place over the summer. We’ll let you know more information on when it’s set to happen as soon as it becomes available.

Kelce recently spoke to Matt McMullen and Mitch Holthus during the 2021 NFL draft, sharing some thoughts on being a mentor, not only to the young tight ends in Kansas City but to the position group as a whole.

“That’s the biggest thing for me is to help this position grow,” Kelce said. “I didn’t have this success and I don’t have all the fun out there on the field without a guy like Tony Gonzalez or Vernon Davis. I mean you name it, the guys before me, they’ve blazed the trail and given me an opportunity to have that much trust in an offense. You name it. I’ve just been very fortunate. I just want to pass that torch.”

It seems that Tight End University could be a way for Kelce to begin passing that torch to a new generation of tight ends in the NFL.
