Chiefs fans are invited to paint Branson red during inaugural community tailgate

Ozarks residents are invited to help turn Branson red next week in celebration of the Kansas City Chiefs.

The City of Branson is hosting its first Chiefs tailgate on Wednesday, Oct. 11 from 5-8 p.m. at the Branson Ferris Wheel, located at 3335 W. 76 Country Boulevard. The tailgate is the first of many community-wide events following the declaration of Branson as the "Official Vacation Destination of the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs."

Free and family-friendly, the tailgate will include a radio party, dance and pep rally. Springfield-based rock and roll, soul band The Rosy Hips will provide live entertainment and concessions will be available on-site. Alcohol will not be allowed. After sundown, the red and gold fireworks will be set off above the Branson Ferris Wheel.

The Chiefs announced its multi-year partnership with the City of Branson and Branson/Lakes Area Tourism Community Enhancement District in August. Branson serves as the team's first official vacation destination.

Through this new partnership, Branson will host an annual in-market season kickoff rally with Chiefs personalities, according to a Chiefs news release. Branson will also have a sizeable presence in the team's NFL Draft coverage and fan events, which includes serving as the presenting partner of the annual Season Ticket Member Draft Fest at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
