Chiefs announce trio of roster moves on Saturday

The Kansas City Chiefs have made a flurry of roster moves on Saturday ahead of their Week 7 soiree with the Tennessee Titans.

In an expected move, the Chiefs placed TE Jody Fortson on injured reserve. Andy Reid confirmed that Fortson had successful surgery to repair a torn Achilles on Wednesday. The Chiefs didn’t make a corresponding move to sign a player to the 53-man roster. They still have three tight ends on the roster and are likely keeping the roster spot open to later return a player from injured reserve or activate Kyle Long from the Reserve/PUP list.

With an injury to starting MIKE linebacker Anthony Hitchens, the Chiefs also elevated two players from the practice squad via standard elevation, both of whom were practice squad protections.

Darius Harris, who started at SAM linebacker in Week 16 last season due to injury, has been elevated to the practice squad. Look for him to potentially get one of three helmets equipped with a microphone to the sideline.

Chrisitan Rozeboom, who is new to the Kansas City practice squad this year was also elevated. One thing to keep an eye on here is that Rozeboom could potentially play fullback in addition to linebacker. Chiefs fullback Michael Burton was ruled out of the game this week with a pec injury.
