SOUTH BEND — Chicago jazz pianist Lara Driscoll performs with her trio at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at Merrimans’ Playhouse, 401 E. Colfax Ave., Suite 135.

A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and McGill University’s Schulich School of Music in Montreal, Driscoll has released two albums: 2021’s “Firm Roots,” a piano duo album with Chris White, and 2020’s “Woven Dreams,” with her trio, featuring Dave Laing on drums and Paul Rushka on bass.

She’s also the pianist and arranger on vocalist Nancy Lane’s “Let Me Love You” and has performed on recordings by the groups Bossa Nuevo and Tango Espejo.

In addition to Driscoll, the trio includes Ethan Philion on bass and Lucas Gillan on drums for the Merrimans’ Playhouse gig.
