Severide is back in the Windy City, and we have the visual proof!

A new promo for #OneChicago’s upcoming seasons features the first footage of Taylor Kinney’s return as Severide on Chicago Fire. And more good news: The video also includes a “Stellaride” reunion.

“I’m here. We’re in this together,” Severide tells his wife Stella.

In January, Kinney took a leave of absence from the firefighter drama to deal with a personal matter, resulting in script rewrites to account for why Severide was missing in action. In October, it was reported that the actor will return to the show — for at least the start of Season 12.

Kinney last appeared in the Feb. 22 installment, and his character’s absence was explained in the March 1 episode, when it was revealed that Severide had gone to Alabama for an arson investigation training program. But Kelly’s wife Stella later learned that he was no longer in Alabama, having been recruited to help with an ATF investigation. After Severide was vague about the job and a timetable for his return to Chicago, Stella decided in the May 24 season finale to take some time off work to go bring her husband back home.

While Kinney is back, several other Fire cast members are on their way out: As TVLine previously reported, Kara Killmer will return to the show in Season 12 — but it will be her last year as paramedic Sylvie Brett. The exact timetable/episode for her exit has not been revealed yet. Additionally, Alberto Rosende, who has played Blake Gallo for four seasons, will exit the NBC drama in the Season 12 premiere.

The above promo also includes footage from Chicago Med and Chicago P.D., which are undergoing some cast overhauls, as well: Tracy Spiridakos, who plays detective Hailey Upton on P.D., will depart the cop drama after the upcoming 11th season. Meanwhile, Luke Mitchell (Blindspot) has joined Med as a new Emergency Department doctor for Season 9.

The trio of Chicago shows return Wednesday, Jan. 17, starting at 8/7c, for shortened 13-episode seasons.
