Chevy Chase pays visit to New Jersey to light up the holidays for George's House

Luckily, this time, the lights worked.

Chevy Chase, who starred as Clark W. Griswold in "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" paid a visit to Mullica Hill Sunday to light up a house that is decorated in honor of the famous Christmas movie.

The event, which was held at the Harbaugh Village in Gloucester County, included a viewing of the movie.

When the movie was over, just as he did in the movie, Chase did the official lighting.

And in doing so, he went the extra mile. We're talking way more than refilling your eggnog, making you something to eat or driving you out to the middle of nowhere and leaving you for dead.

He raised money for a great cause. Proceeds from Sunday's event went to George's House, a nonprofit that that collects toys and money to help children and families struggling around the holidays.

That was the reason Steve Harbaugh founded the charity organization.

That's the reason for it, but it's also been a great experience for those who visited the South Jersey holiday landmark. On Sunday, everyone, including the patriarch of the Griswold family, had fun.

"I love all of you. So great that you came out to this, it's very, very nice of you," said Chase, who also made time to visit the Rocky statue with Sylvester Stallone in Philadelphia before the event.
