Cher's Son Elijah Blue Allman Has Divorce Dismissal Request Granted by Judge

Cher’s son Elijah Blue Allman’s request to dismiss his divorce from wife Marieangela King has officially been granted.

Allman, 47, first requested a divorce dismissal in Los Angeles County on Jan. 5, only for it to be denied by a judge several days later due to a temporary support stipulation. His request was finally granted on Wednesday, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.

Allman — the son of Cher and second husband Gregg Allman — first filed for divorce from King, 36, in 2021 after tying the knot in December 2013.

But the two have since reconciled amid legal drama with Allman’s mother, who on Monday had her recent ex parte motion that he be placed in a temporary emergency conservatorship due to his alleged mental health and substance abuse issues denied by a judge.

In a filing objecting to Cher’s request obtained by PEOPLE last month, Allman wrote that he and King were “reconciling and cohabitating” — and noted that the “Believe” singer, 77, “objects to my reconciliation with Marieangela.” As a result, he wrote, she “refused” to pay his family law counsel.

King, meanwhile, wrote in a filing of her own that she and Allman “live together as a married couple.”

“Elijah is a brilliant musical and conceptual artist and a king, thoughtful, and generous man,” she wrote. “He is the love of my life and I absolutely adore him. He is also a recovering drug addict and alcoholic.”

In Monday’s hearing, the judge ruled against Cher’s proposed injunction because Allman has proved “he has managed his finances” and “has an apartment,” and since “he has remained drug free” after submitting “several drug tests.”

Allman attended the court date with his legal team and King by his side, while Cher appeared remotely, with her lawyers attending in person. An additional hearing is set for March 6.

In court documents that surfaced in September of last year, King accused the Grammy-winning singer of hiring four men to kidnap Allman in late 2022.

King — who is known professionally as Queenie — alleged later in October in papers obtained by PEOPLE that she had not seen Allman since April, shortly after they agreed to “work on [their] marriage” amid their divorce. The musician alleged that Cher had continued to “interfere” with her son’s “health management as well as his location and accessibility" during that time.

Regarding the allegations, Cher told PEOPLE in an October interview “that rumor is not true” and declined to comment further.

She did, however, confirm that the private family matter was related to her son’s addiction issues, which he has spoken openly about over the years.

“I’m not suffering from any problem that millions of people in the United States aren’t,” Cher said of watching her son’s years-long struggles with substance abuse. “I’m a mother. This is my job — one way or another, to try to help my children. You do anything for your children. Whenever you can help them, you just do it because that’s what being a mother is. But it’s joy, even with heartache — mostly, when you think of your children, you just smile and you love them, and you try to be there for them.”
