Cher dates younger men because guys her age are cowards — or dead

For the ageless wonder that is Cher, the beat goes on at 77.

And the legendary diva has some very simple reasons for dating younger men such as her current boyfriend, music producer Alexander “AE” Edwards — who, at 38, is 39 years her junior.

“I’m really shy when I’m not working and kind of shy around men,” she explained on Wednesday’s episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show.”

“And the reason I go out with young men is because men my age or older — well, now they’re all dead — but before they just never, they were always terrified to approach me,” she continued. “And younger men were the only ones that [did].”

Cher — who last week was announced as one of the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees — also revealed to Hudson that she once turned down a date with the King himself, Elvis Presley.

“It was because I was nervous, and I knew of the people around him, and it wasn’t that they were bad people, it’s just that I was kind of nervous of his reputation,” she explained.

Cher — who performed her smash “Believe” with Hudson as the Icon Award recipient at last month’s iHeartRadio Music Awards — also shared that Tupac Shakur has become one of her favorite artists.

“I was so taken aback by the depth of the words,” said the Oscar winner, who was introduced to the late rapper by Edwards.

Cher — who was 18 years older than actor Rob Camilletti when she dated him from 1986 to 1989 — met her latest younger beau met at Paris fashion week in September 2022.

“It was really, really weird, because I wasn’t looking for it really,” she told The Post in October. “And we met because my friend kept nudging me to go ask him about his teeth. So I’m looking at this beautiful guy with white hair, tatted up and with these teeth. And so I said, ‘Dude, I like your grill.’ And he went, ‘No, they’re my teeth.’

“And then,” Cher continued, “I saw him again — he was with T [Tyga] at the Ann Demeulemeester show — and then we were all standing together in a picture. So he asked my friend to send me this picture of us. And then my friend said, ‘No, send it to her yourself.’”

The May-December lovebirds then began texting each other. But Cher was initially skeptical of their budding romance.

“I kept saying, ‘Dude, this is not gonna work out. I’m telling you, it’s not gonna go good. It’s just not gonna work.’ And he just wasn’t going for it.”
