Cher and James Corden Perform Updated Version of ‘I Got You Babe’

On Thursday’s The Late Late Show, guest Cher and host James Corden put a bit of a millennial twist on Cher’s classic song, “I Got You Babe.”

This modern version is aimed at a younger generation with references to things like Snapchat, Tinder, Facebook and Netflix. And, of course, the title has been tweaked slightly to “I Got You Bae.”

“They say we’re young, and we don’t know how to find love, without using our phone,” Cher sings in the opening verse, followed by Corden: “I don’t know if all that’s true, cuz you swiped me and baby i swiped you.”

The performance is fun and their banter before the song is also good for a chuckle, as Cher tries to figure out why Corden came out dressed as her. But he was able to finally put that to rest.

“Well look, I’ve committed to it now, you’ve committed to it, so you want to do this?” Always game, Cher replied, “Absolutely!”

The Late Late Show with James Corden airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. on CBS
