Chelsea Clinton Looks Back at Her Awkward ’90s Fashion in the White House

Being a teenager is awkward. Being a teenager in the White House must be torture. Chelsea Clinton visited Late Night With Seth Meyers and recalled her questionable fashion choices from the 1990s.

She said, “I remember convincing my mother to let me put on the orange and black rubber bands on my braces, and her trying to tell me I wasn’t going to be back in the orthodontist for weeks.”

Despite Hillary Clinton’s best efforts to dissuade her, Chelsea soon regretted her decision and begged the then first lady to take her back to the orthodontist. Hillary didn’t budge, however, and Chelsea had to live with the Halloween braces well into November.

She said, “So, not only are my ’90s fashion expressions, misguided foibles recorded for eternity, so too are my braces colors.”

Late Night airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. on NBC.
