All around nice guy and two-time Academy Award winner Tom Hanks has listed neighboring estates in Los Angeles’ family friendly Pacific Palisades neighborhood.

He and his wife, actress Rita Wilson, also own a third property on the same street, the Los Angeles Times reports.

They’re asking $9.25 million for a traditional-style family home set on a half acre tucked between a state park and a country club in a neighborhood that’s also home to Steven Spielberg and Reese Witherspoon.

The 7,260-square-foot home is an entertainer’s delight, with formal living and dining rooms that open onto a sun porch.

A large, skylit kitchen offers lots of room for more casual dining via bar stools on the center island or in a spacious eating area.

The room can be extended through French doors onto a patio that’s ideal for outdoor noshing or just kicking back with a book.

The great room, with its fireplace and coffered wood ceiling, is suited to cozy gatherings of family and friends. One end of the room includes a bar with a foot rail.

The gated home includes a generous 7 bedrooms and 6.5 baths, plus indoor living spaces that integrate seamlessly with gorgeous outdoor gardens with canyon views.

Right next door sits a 3,930-square-foot, Spanish-style home that Hanks and Wilson have listed for $8.75 million.

Built in 1933, it’s located on the “Palisades Riviera,” with a park-like yard and sweeping canyon views.

The 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath home offers “a wonderful opportunity to remodel, expand or build new,” according to the listing by Mary Lu Tuthill of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, who is also the listing agent for the neighboring home.

Not that the home screams “tear-down.” Its exposed-beam ceilings, wood floors and built-ins create a welcoming, Old World ambiance that’s balanced by a chef’s kitchen with stainless appliances and a large center island.

Buy one or both, and become part of a quiet neighborhood where regular families mix with the stars.
