2 Chainz claimed the No. 1 slot on the Billboard 200 this week with his debut studio effort “Based On a T.R.U. Story.” The Def Jam set arrived atop the list with 147,000 sold according to Nielsen SoundScan and marked the third debut album to bow at No. 1 this year. Elsewhere in the top 10, Insane Clown Posse’s “Mighty Death Pop” bowed at No. 4 while Yellowcard claimed a No. 10 entry with “Southern Air.”

But now, let’s take a look at some of the other movers and shakers on the Billboard 200 and elsewhere on our album charts:

— Bob Marley and the Wailers: The act’s 1984 greatest hits album “Legend” jumps to a new peak of No. 18 (up from No. 38) and has its best sales week (18,000; up 123%) since Christmas 2008. Credit the gain to both a discount promotion at Best Buy (where it was offered for $3.99) and its recent stocking at Starbucks.

“Legend” initially peaked at No. 54 during its chart run back in 1984 through 1985. The set later returned to the list in 1988, and got as high as No. 72 in 1990. Once the chart’s rules changed in 1991, nearly all catalog titles (meaning older releases) were removed from the chart, including “Legend.” But, in 2009, the list reverted to an all-encompassing tally, and the oldies returned – including “Legend.” Since then, the set has been a familiar face on the Billboard 200, often charting within the top 50.

A bevy of titles throughout the chart benefit from discounting at Best Buy, including Maroon 5’s “Overexposed” (No. 5; up 59%), Justin Bieber’s “Believe” (No. 6; up 17%) and Nicki Minaj’s “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” (No. 27; up 119%).

— Slightly Stoopid:
It’s the best week ever for the rock band, as its new album “Top of the World” bows at career-high No. 12 with a personal-best 21,000. The set’s current single, its title track, rises 35-28 on Alternative Songs this week (up 66% in detections, according to Nielsen BDS).

— “Sparkle”
– The film’s soundtrack sizzles (jumping 42-21) after the movie opened in U.S. theaters on Aug. 17. The set, which features two songs by its co-star Whitney Houston, sold 16,000 last week, for a gain of 111%. Meanwhile, over on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, the set’s “Celebrate” duet (by Houston and co-star Jordin Sparks) becomes the late Houston’s 40th top 40 hit.

— Fleetwood Mac:
“Just Tell Me That You Want Me: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac” debuts at No. 2 on Compilation Albums and No. 45 on the Billboard 200, arriving on the heels of news that the band will tour in 2013. The eclectic compilation features covers of the pop/rock act’s hits by the likes of MGMT, Antony, Best Coast and the New Pornographers.

— Olympics: “A Symphony of British Music,” the soundtrack to the Olympics’ closing ceremony, jumps onto the list at No. 148 in its second week of availability (3,000; up 147%). On the Soundtracks chart, it climbs 17-7. While the compilation doesn’t quite feature all of the music heard during the closing event, it does boast the bulk of the biggest tunes. Notable absences include One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful” and George Michael’s “Freedom.”

— Kidz Bop:
After a number of weeks of high-powered gains caused by Amazon MP3 and its weekly $3.99 (or less!) deals, the latest batch of sale-priced titles doesn’t cause much of a wave. Children’s music was the focus last week, but the promotion’s impact is muted. One of the largest gains can be found down at No. 135, where the “Shake It Up: Live 2 Dance” soundtrack earns a 76% increase, selling 4,000 copies.
