‘Charmed’ Reboot Changes Showrunners – Craig Shapiro and Elizabeth Kruger to Take Over

The CW’s “Charmed” reboot is changing bosses.

“Faking It” creator Carter Covington, who served as showrunner on Season 1 of the supernatural drama, is exiting ahead of the previously announced second season.

Covington will be replaced by “Salvation” duo Craig Shapiro and Elizabeth Kruger, who are under an overall deal at CBS Television Studios, as the CBS-produced series heads in a new creative direction.

Madeleine Mantock, Melonie Diaz and Sarah Jeffery star in the freshman series about a trio of sister witches, a reboot of the WB series of the same name, which originally aired from 1998 to 2006.

Developed by “Jane the Virgin” duo Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin along with “Jane” creator Jennie Snyder-Urman, the show was picked up for a second season by The CW along with nine other shows earlier this year.
