Megan Rapinoe is inspiring much more than the next generation of sports -- it seems that the USNWT co-captain is now a beauty influencer, too!

During an acceptance speech for The Rebel Award at the 2019 Glamour of the Year Awards on Monday night, actress Charlize Theron revealed to the audience and fellow honoree Rapinoe that her new hairdo was actually influenced by the World Cup winner herself.

“The women in this room tonight are putting themselves on the frontlines of the empathy battle, via through storytelling, creating opportunities for those who need it most, or just unabashedly being yourself and telling other women ‘We don’t have to apologize for who we are or what we are’,” Theron said on stage.

The star then spoke directly to Rapinoe herself: “And I’m looking at you, Megan. This is all you,” she said, motioning to her hair.

Rapinoe, with her signature colored pixie cut and her go-to red carpet blazers, has become somewhat of a style icon on the red carpet since the team's highly-celebrated victory over the Netherlands at this summer's World Cup. The athlete and activist, who started her own clothing company with her twin, Rachel, has even stated that she wants to be a fashion designer when she "grows up" -- so it's no surprise that she's partnered with one of Hollywood top stylists, Karla Welch, to help elevate her look.

And while Rapinoe did tell Welch she would be open to dresses (she wore a long red Gucci dress to Monday night's red carpet), Welch has implied that suits would be her thing. "She’s super into the suits, too. It’s pretty organic," she said to The Cut earlier this summer.

Welch, who also works with Justin Bieber and Karlie Kloss, started by dressing Rapinoe for the 2019 ESPYs (where she nearly broke the internet with her leather shorts and a plunging blazer).

"She knew that I like putting my girls in suits. We literally had five minutes to fit her. We had a couple back-and-forths, but you know, she was busy winning the World Cup, so I didn’t really want to bother her."
