Charlize Theron shares rare photo of daughter on vacation
Charlize Theron is enjoying some downtime with her family amid her busy schedule. The Bombshell star posted two photos from her Croatian vacation, giving fans a rare glimpse of one of her daughters. Theron, 44, is mother to 7-year old Jackson and 3-year-old August, both of whom she adopted.
In the photo, her little girl's face is obscured by the beautiful greenery. Theron didn't reveal which daughter is featured in the snapshot.
It shouldn't come as a surprise that the actress opted not to fully feature (or name) her child in the photo. She values her family's privacy and has only featured her kids on her social media page a few times prior. In the pictures, you never see their faces.
While in Croatia, Theron and her family dined at the Seafood restaurant Gariful in Hvar. The restaurant posted about how "Theron and her family accompanied to our restaurant eating grilled lobster and drinking following wine."
In April, the Fast & Furious 9 actress revealed Jackson is transgender, after initially introducing her eldest kid to the world as a boy.
“Yes, I thought she was a boy, too,” Theron told The Daily Mail. “Until she looked at me when she was 3-years-old and said: 'I am not a boy!’ So there you go! I have two beautiful daughters who, just like any parent, I want to protect and I want to see thrive.”
She continued, “They were born who they are and exactly where in the world both of them get to find themselves as they grow up, and who they want to be, is not for me to decide. My job as a parent is to celebrate them and to love them and to make sure that they have everything they need in order to be what they want to be. And I will do everything in my power for my kids to have that right and to be protected within that."
Many of the comments on Theron's recent post are supportive.
"I think you are a great mom and allowing your children to find their true selves with your guidance," one person shared.
"It's refreshing to see a celebrity who isn't using her kids as trendy accessories, thereby allowing them to grown organically and as far away from the limelight as is it's reasonable possible," another added. "Kudos!"
"Beautiful girl, Ms. Theron," wrote another follower.
