Charlize Theron and Oscar Isaac Get Spooky in ‘The Addams Family’ First Trailer (Video)

The first look at the upcoming computer animated “The Addams Family” movie rose from its crypt on Tuesday morning — giving fans of the iconic 1960s TV show and the 1990s movies a look at the updated clan, with Charlize Theron starring as Morticia and Oscar Isaac as Gomer Adams.

You can check out the full video teaser above and the movie poster below.

The trailer opens by racing inside a dilapidated and haunted mansion to find Morticia and Gomer standing inside. “Get out!” the house roars at the pair; “It’s hideous. It’s horrible. It’s home!” Morticia and Gomer say to themselves, giddily.

The movie, directed by “Sausage Party” directors Conrad Vernon and Greg Tierman, marks the first time “The Addams Family” will come to the screen in an animated feature-length film, dating back to their first appearance as a cartoon in The New Yorker in 1938.

Aside from Theron and Isaac, the rest of the voice cast is pretty star-studded as well, with Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester, Chloe Grace Moretz as Wednesday, Finn Wolfhard as Pugsley, Allison Janney as Margaux Needler, and Bette Midler as Grandmama.

Keep your eyes open for a little dig at “It” and Pennywise while you’re watching the trailer, too. “The Addams Family” is set to hit theaters in October.
