Charlie Sheen: Potential bipolar disorder discussed on Dr. Oz Show

Charlie Sheen: 'I might be bipolar'

Charlie Sheen opened up further about his HIV diagnosis and his struggles with mental illness on Monday’s The Dr. Oz Show, during which he described potential mental health issues he hadn’t addressed before, including, People reports, “certain medical opinions, certain personal opinions that I might be bipolar.”

He then elaborated about his possible disorder. “With manic behavior, it’s usually in the throes of deep partying, deep substance abuse and drinking. It doesn’t really happen when I’m not doing that,” Sheen explained slowly, pausing between thoughts. “I’ve been described or diagnosed by enough people to … I guess at some point you have to look at it if it keeps walking like a duck, so … And I’m not opposed to investigating that aspect of myself. We’ve come this far, we might as well fix it all, right?” At this, the audience applauded Sheen, as seen in the preview clip from the episode below:

The former Two and a Half Men star ended the segment by agreeing to a meeting with Dr. Oz’s guest Dr. Shahla Modir, who specializes in mood imbalances.
