Calling all It girls! Charli XCX just dropped the video for “360,” the third single off her forthcoming album Brat, and in the process assembled an Avengers-level squad composed of all the cool girls dominating our Instagram feeds. The all-star cast includes Julia Fox, Chloë Sevigny, Emma Chamberlain, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, and Gabriette—to name just a few.

Directed by Aidan Zamiri, the video opens with Charli interrupting a dinner party at which the clan of It girls is making preparation to “fulfill the prophecy of finding a new hot internet girl,” “or else our kind will cease to exist … forever.”

The ladies set their sights on their waitress, instructing her to channel her “je ne sais quoi” by embodying sometimes contradictory traits.

“I would say it’s about being really hot in, like, a scary way,” Gabriette advises.

“You have to be, like, known—but at the same time, unknowable,” Richie Shazam instructs.

The paradoxical duality of the so-called “internet cool girl” seems to be something Charli has previously contemplated—especially as it relates to a pop star’s standing in the public imagination.

“Pop is supposed to be a fantasy, right? I feel that sometimes people are so caught up in this idea of being real and authentic, particularly now. I feel like now it’s almost a necessity for the validity of an artist for them to be considered real or genuine or down to earth,” she said in a 2022 interview with NPR. “Great pop stars have a godlike, untouchable status to them. That’s what wields a lot of power, and I enjoy that. I’ve never met Madonna, but I don’t want to meet Madonna and her be like, ‘Hey, do you want to go for brunch?’ I want Madonna cunty as fuck and Madonna. You know?”

Brat is out June 7, 2024.
