Charles Barkley not impressed with Embiid-Towns 'snuggle party'

The NBA world was enamored with the battle of seven-footers that saw Joel Embiid and Karl Anthony-Towns ejected and suspended for their on-court fight on Wednesday night.

Just don’t count Charles Barkley as impressed.

The TNT commentator and Hall of Famer known for his physical style of play declined to qualify the altercation as an actual fight.

Barkley not impressed

Instead he deemed the interaction that didn’t involve any punches thrown a “snuggle party” during TNT’s pregame show on Thursday.

“They were two guys holding each other, Barkley said. “There was no punches thrown. How can you call something a fight when there’s no punches thrown?”

Barkley was known for getting into confrontations of his own during his playing days, most notably a scuffle with now-TNT set mate Shaquille O’Neal when Barkley played for the Houston Rockets.

Maybe if Towns had bounced a ball off of Embiid’s head, Barkley would have been more impressed.
