Charlamagne Tha God has found himself, once again, backpedaling on a remark he made without first doing proper research.

Recently on The Breakfast Club, the 45-year-old commented that Megan Thee Stallion is “not an arena artist” following the return of her Megan Monday freestyles. As co-hosts Jess Hilarious and DJ Envy seemingly agreed, the dig helmed much backlash from fans who had to ultimately “learn them something” with the facts.

A day after the controversy, Charlamagne went on-air and retracted his comment, asserting that Meg is, indeed, an arena artist, and sharing an update about her tour.

“Clearly we got our answers,” he said while mentioning his new learned facts. “She sold out 13 arena stops in over 240,000 tickets across North America and Europe. Yeah so if you’re selling out arenas, you’re an arena artist.” DJ Envy added, “We were wrong,” as Jess said, “I don’t think we should be hating on them $24 tickets. Please take them. Im about to buy Chris Brown tickets for $400.”

Originally, Jess brought up Megan’s lowest priced ticket ($24), and mentioned that she wasn’t sure if the upcoming Hot Girl Summer Tour was selling, to which CThaGod declared it may not be because Megan isn’t an “arena artist.”

“Megan is scheduled to start next week in Minneapolis. I don’t know whether it’s selling or not,” the pregnant host spoke of Meg’s upcoming trek. “But if the tickets are that low, take advantage of it.”

Charlamagne added, ” I mean, if she’s doing arenas, she shouldn’t be doing arenas. She’s not an arena artist. Salute to Megan Thee Stallion but she’s not an arena artist, maybe a theater artist. But not yet.”

According to Meg’s official website, 17 out of her 35 shows are already sold out in major cities, including New York City (Madison Square Garden), Los Angeles (Crypto.com Arena), Philadelphia (Wells Fargo Center), Detroit (Little Caesars Arena), Dallas (American Airlines Center), Houston (Toyota Center), Atlanta (State Farm Arena) and more.

The Hot Girl Summer Tour, co-starring GloRilla, is set to kick off on May 14 in Minneapolis before concluding its domestic leg on June 22 in Las Vegas. The “Savage” Grammy-winner will then head overseas to Europe starting in July.
