The Bachelorette star Charity Lawson is competitive by nature. She joined Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars. And Charity’s pro partner is Artem Chigvintsev.

While some of Artem’s previous partners (cough, cough … Kaitlyn Bristowe) have slammed him for being too harsh, Charity is thrilled that he is her partner. “If I was paired with anyone else I really don’t think I would be as successful,” she stated.

Meanwhile, Charity and Artem would like their scores to improve. And they would like some feedback from the judges. Is that too much to ask, DWTS?

Charity felt frustrated

Artem and Charity waltzed to the song Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid. Charity scored all eights from Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli for the second week in a row. She felt adrift.

“I don’t want to say I try to forget about [the scores] completely, because they do matter,” Charity told The Messenger. “Like, it’s what you look forward to, helping you improve because they’re going to give feedback for you to work on. But I think for me and Artem, what we’re struggling with is, like, the comments were fantastic, and it’s like there’s nothing else to work on, so where do we go from here?”

The comments for Charity were so great that I thought she would get at least a nine from one of the judges. But the judges have so little time to offer compliments and critiques.

Artem gave his take on the judges’ comments

“I think the scores are kind of the ultimate reward for the hard work you’re doing. So as much as sometimes you don’t want to pay attention to it, just because it can affect you in a positive and negative way and affect the way you work next week, at the end of the day, it is important to get that constructive criticism,” Artem explained.

“What I’m finding sometimes difficult is when … the comments are always great and effortless and this and that, and then it’s an eight. It’s not that I’m upset about an eight, it’s a great score, but I think there’s potential in there to get a nine or even a 10, so what do I do?” the dancer remarked. “What do you want me to do to get that?”

Hopefully, the judges will be able to give some more constructive feedback next week.

Dancing with the Stars continues on Tuesdays on ABC and Disney+.
