Chapter 2 Book Club: ‘The Cemetery of Untold Stories’ is a near-perfect novel

This month, morning anchor Chris Parente selected “The Cemetery of Untold Stories” by Julia Alvarez.
The plot revolves around a novelist who is nearing the end of her career.

With so many unfinished books and novels, she decides she needs to “bury” her unfinished works and be done with them. Instead, the voices from her unfinished works begin to creep up from the earth, demanding their stories be heard.
Chris said the novel is a perfect blend of the mystic and the intimate. Through the stories, we learn about the interconnectedness of the characters, the power of needing to share and the power of what we choose to keep secret.
It’s a near-perfect new novel, and Chris gave it 4 out of 5 “Parentes.”
