‘Chapelwaite’ Canceled After One Season At MGM+

There will be no second season for MGM+ series Chapelwaite. The show’s co-creator and executive producer Jason Filardi announced the news on X (fka Twitter), and Deadline has confirmed.

“I’m afraid Captain Boone’s story ends on that beach of weathered, Maine sand,” Filardi wrote. “There will be no Season 2. Thank you to all the Chapelwaite fans!”

Starring Adrien Brody and Emily Hampshire, the 1850-set series followed Captain Charles Boone (Brody), who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy Maine town of Preacher’s Corners after his wife dies at sea. However, Charles soon has to confront the secrets of his family’s sordid history and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.
