Channing Tatum reportedly moved out of family home months before Jenna Dewan split news

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum's announcement on Monday night that they are separating after nine years of marriage was apparently a long time coming.

People reported on Tuesday that "multiple sources" confirmed that the "Magic Mike" actor actually moved out of their family home months ago. The detail confirms what sources close to the former couple are alleging about the reason behind their breakup: They'd been spending a lot of time apart, and it eventually took too much of a toll on their marriage.

"When Everly was younger, Channing and Jenna used to spend a lot of family time together," a source told People. "For the past year, they seem to have spent less time together."

The split announcement came just one month after Dewan hit the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party red carpet without Tatum, who she said was "so happy to have a night off."

Though they've been hitting the town without one another (Tatum was spotted out for dinner at West Hollywood celebrity haunt Craig's), they've still been making a concerted effort to continue to spend time together with daughter, Everly, 4, like when they had a face painting day last month together.

That being said, their conflicting work schedules have only allowed so much of that. In addition to going to Hawaii recently without his wife and daughter, Tatum "is often out of town" and has also been busy at work on multiple upcoming projects, like writing and producing "Gambit."

Both Tatum and Dewan were curiously spotted wearing their wedding rings leading up to their announcement on Monday.

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum met on the 2006 set of "Step Up," started dating shortly after and wed three years later in 2009.
